THE Perfect pitch alumnus – who has already made her directorial debut in 2023 with Woman of the hour-turns behind the camera, logging in to direct Taylor Jenkins-Reidthe 2017 novel, The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugoaccording to several outlets.

Leslye Point had already been named director of the film in 2023, but Variety reports that she left the project for unspecified reasons.

The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo follows the main character, a former Hollywood star, as she gives her first – and what she says will be her last – major interview in decades, sharing never-before-seen details about her career and, you guessed it, her seven husbands. During the interview, the 79-year-old star reveals shocking secrets about her story and why she chose Monique Grant, a previously modest journalist, to lead the conversation.

Netflix has regained the rights to the best-selling book of 2022, with Liz Tigelaar writing the first draft of the script, but only until now has a director been named for the project. And although Jenkins Reid has signed on as executive producer, no official casting information has been shared.
